Threads & Colours: Weaving on Small Looms
Description
In this two-day workshop you will work with two types of loom: an individual tapestry loom and a small table loom. With the tapestry loom you will create an individual project. During this process, you will learn about the basic structure of weaving and some common weaving terms. With this knowledge and an array of different threads, you will create a small piece of woven fabric. On the table loom you will participate in the creation of a group project. From start to finish, you will learn how to use a real loom. You will learn the parts of the loom and some simple techniques for its operation. You will wind a warp, tie it on the loom and weave! Participants will work in teams and go home with a small sample of their own handiwork.
