Rug Hooking and Braiding
Description
Step out of bed onto a cold, board floor. In the 19th century, fireplaces were the only form of heat and often died down during the night. When your wool skirts or aprons developed holes in them you never threw them out. Cloth of any kind was highly valued because it took a lot of time and effort to make it. In this half-day workshop, you will learn the tools and techniques used to hook rugs and work on a reproduction rug with Kings Landing staff. For braided rugs you will sew strips of cloth into long lengths, braid them, then shape them into oval, circular, or rectangular rugs.
