Quilting

DescriptionQuilting
Thread your needle and put your thimble on!  It's time for a quilting bee. This event was more than the production of bed coverings - it was a chance for community women to get together and socialize. In this half-day workshop, an experienced quilter will teach you the history of quilting and show you artifact quilts displayed at King's Landing.  You will discuss how to set up and quilt a typical bed covering, then try your hand at the "Nine Patch Star" pillow top that you can take home.

Quilt side by side with the costumed Kings Landing staff on a reproduction quilt they are working on all summer long, and catch up on the gossip of a 19th century village. You are invited to sit down in the historic home and enjoy lunch made over the open fire with the costumed staff if you wish!
