May 11, 2010

Maurice Lavigne, Acupuncturist and Qi Gong instructor, and now a new addition to the edVentures line-up this summer, is about to release a book and DVD on Qi Gong.

Entitled A Practical Guide to Cultivating Qi, the book features an overview of Qi Gong, a detailed description of the body's energy anatomy, Seven Steps to Mastering Qi Gong, self-help acupressure techniques, as well as a beginners’ 27-Style Tai Chi Qi Gong form. A training DVD will also available to help practitioners learn the 27-Style Tai Chi Qi Gong Form.

Maurice will be launching his book and DVD at the edVentures Open House.  edVentures Fredericton, Atlantic Canada’s largest learning vacation program in craft and culture, will showcase many of the instructors and their workshops at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design on Saturday, May 15th from 10 am to 5 pm.  Both the book and the DVD will be available for purchase on the internet at the Fredericton Wellness Clinic's new web site at wellnessclinic.biz. The book and DVD will also be available at the Fredericton Wellness Clinic office located at 186 Lincoln Road in Fredericton.

Lavigne explains “Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese healing art that combines posture, breath, meditation, soft movement and mind moving Qi exercises to release stagnant Qi or energy from the body and build strong, healthy Qi.  It is practiced by millions of people throughout the world and is part of the official Chinese Medical System offered in hospitals throughout China.”  Maurice has been practicing Qi Gong for over 12 years and, in his book, shares knowledge of Qi Gong learned in great part from two famous Masters of the art, Master Weizhao Wu of Toronto and Dr. T.K. Shih of Connecticut, USA.

His 5-day workshop, entitled “Vitality Qi Gong Intensive” will be delivered in two parts during the week of July 26 - 30.  The first part lasts two days and focuses on self-help techniques.  The second part last three days and focuses on more advanced healing methods to help one’s own self and to help others. A participant may register for part one only, however, part one is a prerequisite for part two.

For more information about the book or DVD please contact Maurice Lavigne at 452-9795 or e-mail him at wellnessclinic@nb.aibn.com.  For more details about this workshop or other edVentures workshops please call 1-888-850-1333 or register through the website at www.edVentures.ca.  Participants who register before May 31st qualify for the 15% early-bird discount.
